GENERAL INFORMATION AND RULES:
1-- Please help us make your trip as enjoyable as possible by being up-front and honest with us about your expectations
regarding your hunt and we will be up-front with you. If we feel we can meet your expectations, we will put it in
writing. If we can't, we will tell you, so you can find another guide or outfitter that will promise to deliver what you want.
We put enough pressure on ourselves to maintain our reputation and deliver a successful and quality hunt. We don't need the added pressure of dissatisfied clients.
2-- Hunters requiring tree stands must bring their own safety harness and wear it at all times while in their stands.
3-- We ask that you bring to our attention any health, medical conditions or special dietary needs that may become an issue during your visit with us, "well in advance of your scheduled dates".
4-- Upon your arrival, you will be issued a cabin that will be yours for the week and does not include maid
service. Brooms, mops, and other cleaning supplies are supplied with the cabin and you will be responsible to keep your cabin neat and clean at all
times. Our facilities all are government licensed and inspected and we are subject to inspection at any time without prior notice. Maid service can be available with prior notice at a cost of
$40 per day.
5-- We are required to issue a New Brunswick hunting or fishing summery to each hunter or fisherman that we sell a license to, which contains most of the fish & game rules and regulations to keep you legal. We strongly recommend that you familiarize yourself with these rules.
Although it is always changing, we will try to keep a current link to the N.B. hunting and fishing summaries on our link page for your convenience.
6--Fall hunters must wear a solid blaze orange vest and cap and must be a minimum of 400 square inches and visible from all sides.
7-- Hunters should bring a soft gun/bow case for transporting their firearms to and from their stands at times other than legal hunting hours.
8-- While return transportation to and from hunting areas and stands (when possible) are included in our package price, it is meant to mean only one return trip per day per group of three hunters to stands and or hunting locations, all other transportation such as returning to the lodge for a noon break is the responsibility of the client.
9-- Deer, bear, bird and varmint hunting rates are based on a ratio of three hunters to one guide and unless previous arrangements have been made we reserve the rite to pair up any odd number parties to maintain that ratio. For moose hunting the ratio is one guide to one hunter.
10-- Deer hunters are provided with a bagged lunch containing sandwiches and sweets etc. for their noon break, You will have the option of eating your lunch on stand or you can arrange to have your guide meet you and prepare hot soup and coffee or tea with your sandwiches. It is quite common for the deer to start feeding and moving during the middle of the day, so we encourage you to keep your noon break as brief as possible.
11-- While we make every attempt to provide transportation for bear and deer hunting, there are times that we require clients to provide there own transportation for which we will reimburse $ 0.40. per mile.
12-- All hunters must provide a previous hunting license or safety hunter certificate to obtain a hunting license in New Brunswick.
13-- If you take a shot at a deer or bear and it runs off, please stay in your stand and try to contact your guide by radio, if unsuccessful in reaching your guide, just leave your radio on until your guide contacts you at a predetermined check in time. If the animal is in view you may approach, only after 30 minutes.
14-- All trails are plainly marked to your satisfaction for walking into your stand in the morning and walking out at the end of the day.
15-- During deer season the day begins at 4:AM for the cooks and kitchen staff' and doesn't end until approximately. 9:PM which leaves them a very short night so we ask that you show them respect by being on time for your evening meal and not lingering too long after finishing.
16-- We welcome you to accompany us on our daily bear baiting circle, however we request you to wear rubber footwear and also rubber gloves and you will not be allowed to approach any closer than 20 yards from the bait, unless instructed by the guide. and under no circumstances should anyone venture beyond the bait to check incoming trails. If a large bear is visiting the bait and suspects or smells anything out of the ordinary, he will just lay back and visit after dark.
17-- We can not be responsible for any firearms or valuables left unattended in your cabins, we recommend that you keep them locked in your vehicle out of sight.
18-- Trigger locks are to be used at all times when firearms are stored or taken into the cabins.
19-- We reserve the right to copies of any or all pictures, video, testimonials or articles of our clients harvested trophy animal, weather filmed or written by our client or ourselves to be used for the promotion of Northway Outfitters business.
20-- We often are asked about tipping. While gratuities are not mandatory, they certainly are expected and much appreciated by both, the guides and kitchen staff. Most clients usually budget approximately 10-12
percent of the cost of their hunt for tips, which usually
is split 65 percent for the guide and 35 percent for the kitchen staff.
